Giggs - Let em have it album analysis

Front Cover analysis

Artist name & album title
The artists name is larger than the album title this allows the audience to recognise who the album belongs to as the album does not feature the artist image, the artists name also stand out from the rest of album house style so that it’s more eye catching.
The album title obey the rules of  the album in terms of colour and style.  Giggs explained “LET EM AVE IT”  was a way of telling the young audience who are is target audience to self express them themselves towards the rest of society, and self expression is one of the main codes & conventions of hip hop, meaning that this album conform to some of the hip hop conventions.

Colour
The colours used in this album cover are very vibrant and eye catching, as there are different strong colours that blend well together.
Image
The image of this album art is illustrated which will appeal to the audience as my survey show that a large percentage of the target audience of this genre are interested in art and this album cover is very artistic and energetic thus relating to the young audience.
The image also relays the concept of the young rebelling against society’s agents like the police and justice system. For instance it there are young people in the background protesting theses social agents.
The main character in the image, which can only assume is a representation of the artist, is wearing a hoodie which is often associated with young people, this helps make a connection between the artist and the target audience.

Back Cover Analysis

Image
The back cover includes a picture of the artist and this challenges the convention of hip hop album covers. It also follows the rest of the album house style, for instance the colour rest is used as the background.
Text
White text is used for the track listing it contrasts the red background which makes it stand out and more eye-catching, the featuring artists are in a black text to make them standout but still blend with the rest of the album house style.
Layout
Its conforms to the codes of hip hop covers but having a barcode

Inside CD Analysis
The inside of the cd uses the same themes used in the front of the album cover, in terms of text of the of the artists name and album name.
